Overview

Joglo Resto & Camp Ciapus, nestled in the serene hills of Bogor’s Tamansari district, offers more than just a meal—it delivers an experience that blends traditional Sundanese cuisine with stunning panoramic views. Situated on Jl. Jami, this restaurant stands out with its authentic atmosphere and a menu that celebrates local flavors alongside familiar dishes, making it a delightful destination for families, friends, and travelers seeking both comfort and culture.

The heart of the menu lies in classic Sundanese offerings like Nasi Timbel Komplit, a complete rice dish wrapped in banana leaves that promises a harmony of flavors, and Karedok, a fresh vegetable salad dressed in a peanut sauce that refreshes the palate. For those craving something more universal yet distinct, options such as Nasi Goreng Joglo, Spaghetti & French Fries, and unique local specialties like Bakwan Pecak Nila Oseng Jantung Pisang ensure there’s a dish to satisfy everyone.

Beverage choices add to the experience with drinks like Matcha Latte, Milk Shake Strawberry, and the traditional Vietnam Drip Coffee that complement the meals perfectly. The coffee here is a standout, embodying the robust, earthy notes typical of Indonesian brews, heightened by the velvety sweetness of palm sugar or creamy toppings on some selections.

Joglo Resto & Camp Ciapus caters especially well to families and groups who appreciate value without compromising quality. The location’s sweeping vistas provide a rare visual treat—patrons can often gaze across Bogor, Jakarta, and even Mount Salak, creating a serene backdrop that enhances the dining atmosphere.

While the natural charm and cuisine impress, some visitors have noted areas for improvement, particularly concerning the cleanliness and hygiene of the space. Attention to tidiness, especially around seating and tables, would elevate the dining experience further. Additionally, food service speeds can be leisurely, but the tranquil environment and breathtaking views offer ample opportunity to relax and savor the moment.

The restaurant’s blend of rustic ambiance, a thoughtfully curated menu, and a warm, hospitable staff makes it a compelling stop for those exploring West Java’s culinary landscape. Whether you are looking for a hearty Sundanese meal, a quiet spot away from city bustle, or a family-friendly venue overlooking dramatic scenery, Joglo Resto & Camp Ciapus stands ready to welcome you with open arms and rich flavors.

Food was great, we had nasi ayam pencok, ayam bakakak, tumis jantung pisang, karedok...all were tasty and proper served. The view was also amazing. But since arrival, I found it quiet dirty. It was more like an old abandoned resto. Actually, we ate with many other customers who came in groups. So, perhaps, they need to tidy up and improve their hygiene and surrounding sanitation, especially on their tables and seats. Everything else was great, meals/service/view...everything was worth the price.

Great place, friendly staff It was a bit packed when we came but we managed to get a table right away Not everything on the menu was available, so we had to change our initial order Food was nice and delicious, the price was quite cheap as well Overall really recommended for family who's visiting their children in nearby boarding schools

A family and pocket friendly restaurant with breathtaking view. The food taste is good, I recommend their Nasi timbel Komplit or Gurame Bakar. The service is quite slow, you can expect 30 minutes for your food to arrive. Fortunately, you can enjoy the mindbreaking scenery - you literally can see whole Bogor, Jakarta, and Mount Salak around.
